Clive Mann | executive coach

Clive is an executive coach and organisational development consultant, working with senior leaders and their teams. He combines a career background in corporate strategy development with extensive experience of coaching senior leaders and their teams in a range of sectors. His coaching and consulting practice is in its twentieth year.

His clients come from organisations such as ASOS, Audi, BBC, CBRE, de Beers, Deutsche Bank, Gordon Brothers, GSK, Hogan Lovells, Intertek,, Nestle, PwC, Ranstad, Rathbone Brothers, Roche, Siemens, TNT and Vodafone.

Clive brings a sophisticated understanding of the personal challenges facing senior leaders and their teams and is trained in organisational dynamics. He works with clients who operate at the highest levels of leadership, including Board level leaders and top teams. He also works with senior individuals transitioning into, or having imminent prospects of reaching these kinds of positions. His clients include CEO’s, CFO’s, COO’s and senior executives running significant business units and corporate functions. 

Through his direct and honest coaching approach, his clients can review their leadership challenges and professional dilemmas, gaining useful and practical insights. They become better able to capitalise on their strengths and address their development areas, identifying opportunities to implement new leadership approaches, improve their working relationships and achieve their career objectives. 

While developing his own coaching practice, Clive worked as an executive coach with London Business School for a number of years, including leading cross-cultural teams of coaches across three continents (Europe, USA and the Far East) on a long-running senior leadership programme for one of LBS’s largest clients. More recently, he has been a visiting faculty member at the INSEAD Global Leadership Centre in Paris. He is also an award-winning writer and keynote speaker in the areas of leadership development and executive coaching, having written numerous articles and six editions of the industry-leading Ridler Report (a research programme analysing the changing uses of coaching in commercial organisations). 

Before becoming an executive coach he spent many years as a senior strategic planning and corporate finance executive. He founded the London-based executive coaching practice Ridler & Co in 2001, following his passion for enabling high achieving individuals and teams to develop their leadership and professional careers in ways which are in tune with their motivations and make the most of their talents.

Clive has professional qualifications in business and psychology. He is a London Business School MBA, Deloitte-trained Chartered Accountant and UKCP registered psychotherapist. He is an APECS Accredited Executive Coach and has advanced qualifications in the use of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), FIRO-B plus a range of other psychometric instruments. He is currently undertaking doctoral research at the Tavistock Clinic in the systems-psychodynamic organisational model.

Clive is married, has one son and lives in London. In his spare time he enjoys running, and sailing on the south coast of England.
